Prince
Lysandros of Pátrai, Greece, is in exile in France. The year is
1949. During the Greek civil war, an extremist element pronounced a
death sentence on the Prince, and although there is now peace, the
death threat has not been lifted. Homesick, Lee attends a lecture about recent excavations in Greece.
To his surprise, Geneviève, the archaeologist, is young and
beautiful. When he finds she is fluent in Greek, he is delighted.
They meet again in Paris and when, one evening, he sees her home,
passion flares between them.
When the death threat is lifted, Lee is free to return to Greece,
and Geneviève is heartbroken at the thought of losing her lover.
A voluptuous blonde shows an avid interest in Lee. Geneviève fears
that Lee will succumb to the blonde’s wiles. Then, again, maybe not.
An attempt at assassinating Lee is foiled by Geneviève.
They travel back to the Riviera, and a train derailment further
complicates the lovers’ lives. Will Lee realize that what there is between him and Geneviève is
true love, and take her with him to Greece, or will the blonde’s
charms succeed in distracting him?

The year is 1949 and the Greek civil war has just ended. Prince
Lysandros of Pátrai, better known as Lee to friends and family, is
traveling incognito because of the death threats that he has been receiving from extremist elements back home. Exiled by necessity,
the
nostalgic prince goes searching for a little piece of home and finds
it in the lovely Geneviève de Villiers. Though not of Greece,
nevertheless, the petite beauty's interest and knowledge in his
people
and language woos him over as much as her dignified composure and
quiet grace.
Geneviève never quit dreaming of unearthing hidden ruins in Greece,
even when she has been banned from her former digging site. She
never
thought that she would find her own treasure in the gorgeous dark
temptation that is Lee. And when fate continues to throw the two of
them together, perhaps she should start believing in the destiny and
desire that gleams in her lover's eyes.
While rivals and enemies may threaten their love, will a secret
revealed shatter all or will it be the key to their future together?
MY LOVE, FOREVER is a delightfully written romance of the heart with
fascinating characters that will love and hate and scream out their
jealousy under the witty pen of Kate Hofman. A
historical romance
that
manages to blend the charms of the old world with the problems of
the
new world to bring about a tale that will help while away a lazy
afternoon.

Genevieve de Villiers is an archaeologist giving a lecture about a
recent dig she was on in Greece. She is upset because she won’t be
allowed to be on the next team to go to Greece.
Prince Lysandros
of Patrai is living in exile in France since death threats were
issued on him during their civil war. He longs to be able to go back
to Greece, but isn’t sure when that will be.
While visiting
another city while he is in exile in France, Lee notices a lecture
on some recent excavations in Greece. Being extremely homesick, he
decides to attend, expecting the lecturer to be very old. Lee is
pleasantly surprised to find Genevieve de Villiers is not only young
but extremely beautiful. He is delightfully happy to find she is
fluent in Greek. Genevieve is taken with the handsome man, but men
usually don’t pay any attention to her. Besides, she is very busy
handling her recently deceased father’s estate. Both Lee and
Genevieve meet by accident several more times, and their passion
starts to flair. When the Greek Ambassador tells Lee that the death
threats against him have been lifted, Lee is very excited about the
possibility of returning to Greece and wants Genevieve to accompany
him. Even though the death threats have been cancelled, there are
dangers the lovers encounter on the trip to Greece. Will their love
be strong enough to keep them together?
My
Love, Forever is a fantastic story full of deep
emotions. Lee’s pain at being exiled to France was so real, I could
feel his sadness. Their love for each other was so pure and fresh it
was like magic. I got all teary eyed at Genevieve’s anguish on the
train. Kate Hofman
brilliantly brings
these two together, and her character development is excellent. You
don’t want to miss My Love, Forever.

Set in 1949, MY LOVE, FOREVER
delivers a story of two people separated by
their circumstances but connected in their
hearts. The writing in this book is almost
whimsical in it’s design. The desire and emotion
between the characters is authentic and at times
euphoric leaving the audience feeling as if they
are a part of the story. Genevieve and
Lysandros’s trials in their relationship speak
to the heart of readers. The villains were
expertly written and echo real life. While
repetitious at times, passionate scenes and
heartfelt dialogue create a sincere, fairy-tale
story that is sure to grab your attention and
keep you thinking about the characters long
after you have gone.

A sweet story that exposes
some of the little insecurities we all have about
ourselves. I enjoyed watching the characters grow
emotionally as they learned that some of their
self-beliefs might not be totally accurate. To watch
the innocence of friendship blossom into love and
passion is very moving. I laughed and cried with
them as they struggled to find out who they truly
were as individuals and as a couple. The sub-theme
of trust after telling half-truths and how to
overcome lies made for interesting reading.
