R.J.
Lindqvist, best friend to Luisandro, the hero of Not
Without Love, owns a Gym and Spa in Jacksonville.
Four years earlier, when he was staying with Rose
Marie, his best friend, they drifted into a love
affair, and she became pregnant. She did not tell
RJ, because he was so busy making a success of his
Gym and Spa. When the baby is 3 months old, she
moves to Jacksonville and asks RJ for a job as his
accountant. While waiting for the right moment to
tell him Joy is his daughter, she realizes RJ is
seeing a woman named Audrey. She decides to remain
silent. In due course, she hears that RJ has broken
with Audrey.
When RJ finds out that Joy is
his daughter, he is angry with Rose Marie for not
telling him instantly,
dismissing her reasons for her silence.
If RJ proposes now, Rose Marie
will think he wants to marry her for Joy's sake.
This would not be the kind of marriage she could
agree to.
Other women try to hit on RJ,
but he dismisses them with a shrug. He will only
marry the mother of his daughter. Rose Marie wants
to be married for herself. How can they break this
impasse?
Reviews:
R.J. Lindqvist is a
businessman who runs his business with the help of
his friend Rose Marie, a woman he trusts implicitly.
But what would happen to that trust if she told him
the secret she harbors, that he is the father of her
daughter?
Rose Marie knows she
should have told him earlier but when she discovers
that he is in another relationship she finds herself
holding her silence. What will happen when he
discovers the truth, will she lose the only man she
has ever loved? And will he want Rose Marie for
herself and not just their daughter?
Kate Hofman pens a
feel good story that tempts the imagination while
also giving the reader a fantastic read. I loved
reading Golden Adonis because its hero and heroine
were characters that had substance and grit,
something a reader could really sink their teeth
into. I enjoyed R.J. because he had guts and
determination and his loyalty to friends was
absolute. He was a gentleman when he could have been
macho and chauvinistic. I also enjoyed Rose Marie,
she came across as devoted to R.J. and all of her
friends, while also withholding the truth about her
daughter’s father. There are many ways this book
could have ended and I loved the journey that Ms
Hofman takes us through before revealing all and
rekindling a romance that takes the breath away.
Kudos Ms Hofman for such an exciting and
passionately enthralling affair.

Golden
Adonis is an interesting turn of events that
keeps the reader entertained from the first page to
the last. This story has heart, soul, and love all
encircled into the lives of RJ and Marie. I love RJ
and the way he is fashioned into the story. When he
calls Marie by her name, I can almost feel the soft
caress of his voice. He is compassionate, caring,
and makes the read even more wonderful. The times he
spends with Joy are beautifully spun, and one can
feel the love within his heart. Kate Hofman
pens a tale that kept me glued. The expressions
emitted by RJ when he learns about Joy are threefold
as he tries to understand Marie's actions. Ms.
Hofman always captivates her audience with
stories that are believable and touch upon the
heart, and this one certainly did mine.
