Meet the Authors behind
the books

C.H. Admirand
C.H. Admirand has been writing and
receiving rejections for over a decade. Perseverance and the support of
three amazing writers groups, RWA, NJRW and PASIC, kept her from giving
up on her dream of publication. Her first book, The Marshal's
Destiny, was published by Avalon in 2001,
winning The Lories 2002 Award for Best New Author Historical. Her next
book, The Rancher's Heart, will be published by
Thomson/Gale's Five Star Expressions in February 2007. The
Lord of Merewood Keep is her first book to be published by
The Dark Castle Lords and the first in her Medieval Trilogy.
Her love for the written word is a gift from her parents, but the need
to write was instilled by her 7th Grade English teacher. According to
C.H., creating characters is a joy, and plotting the book pure
pleasure... but revisions and edits ... well, that's another story.
One of C.H.'s writing quirks is that she loves to include bits and
pieces of her ancestors and ancestry in all of her books. In
The Marshal's Destiny, her main characters were named after
her great-grandmother, Margaret Mary Flaherty, and her youngest son,
Joshua. In The Rancher's Heart, you'll find the
lyrics to her brother's song, "Off to Amerikay," written for their Irish
immigrant ancestors and a reference to her husband's grandmother, Nellie
Mae Flynn. According to genealogical research of her mother's maiden
name, her fourteenth century Purcell ancestors were powerful Barons of
Loughmae Castle in County Tipperary in Ireland...Loughmae Keep, Lady
Jillian's family holding in The Lord of Merewood Keep,
is named for the stronghold of those brave ancestors.
Married to the man she fell in love with at first sight, C.H. and her
husband live in northern New Jersey with their three "adult" children.

Kate Hofman
Born in The Netherlands, lived in
London, England, since I was eighteen.
BFA – Art History, Major. Interior
Design, Minor.
Moved to Montreal, Canada. (I
figured I might as well be paid for being fluent in French).
Married Arnold Hofman, a truly
fabulous man. Owned and operated an art gallery for twelve years.
Widowed ten years ago by Arnold's untimely death.
Nina Bruhns urged me to write.
I did as I was told, and in the next
4½ years I wrote two dozen books. I figured that’s what it would take
to learn to write. And I was wrong! But Rose Brungard took pity on me
and gave unstintingly of her own expertise, sending long explanatory
e-mails, which helped me a lot. I also owe my grateful thanks to Thea
Devine, who taught me to play “What If” when the writer wonders where to
take the story next. And more recently, I have been given generous
help, advice and encouragement by Jennifer Mueller, whose books I love.
She also designed the cover art for my first two books with
RomanceAtHeart.

Since I was just 12 years old, I
have known that a writer is all I have ever wanted to be.
I was born in 1968 and raised in
the north-east of England. These days I’m a globe-trotting ex-pat Brit. I love
books, movies, music, German Shepherd dogs and wolves. I enjoy meeting other
authors, discussing the writing process and some have described me as “an
inspirational muse” because I love to help other writers get their own projects
off the ground.
I enjoy cooking, black coffee,
red wine and I have a devilish, sometimes zany, sense of humor. I can’t resist a
practical joke so be warned: if you are ever walking through a door and a bucket
of water tips over you … it was most likely me that put it there.
My novels are mainly
revenge-thrillers, some with a supernatural twist.
Wrath and Remembrance,
Comparing Scars, Hitting Back and God's
Soldiers run sequentially to form a quartet.
Blood and Water is a separate story, but linked to Comparing Scars
through one of the characters.
The stories deal with the themes of murder, revenge, sin, temptation, love,
absolution and salvation.
I want people to be entertained by my stories ... but, at the same time, I want
my stories to make the reader think about what is around them and ask themselves
questions like ...
Am I in control of my own life?
Would I know if someone else was trying to manipulate me?
If I lost my soul, would I know it?
Just because you can't see or hear some things ... it doesn't mean that they
don't exist!
Hank Shank VIII
retells the story of King Henry Tudor in our time, caught in changing times and
an ever-raging power-struggle, battling with his personal demons and finding
himself constantly at war with enemies both outside and within his organisation.
A contemporary Henry for our
era.
Would his legacy be so
different?
I have several books planned and
noted for the future.
No rest for the wicked.
